June 3rd-June 9th Weekly Giveaway

There is no cloth diapering accessory more essential than a good wet bag! Planet Wise went above and beyond when creating the Planet Wise line of Wet Bags, Wet/Dry Bags and Pail Liners. These are the first and only wet bags on the market that are not only sewn, but SEALED at the seams! You can put your wettest diaper, dripping wet swimwear, or wet wipes into a Planet Wise wet bag and be assured that your diaper bag or purse will not get wet from wicking or leaking! Planet Wise Wet Bags are available in 27 different fabric choices and each has a coordinating PVC waterproof inner layer and matching zipper. The Large, Wet/Dry and Hanging Wet/Dry bags have a matching handle.
There are endless uses for Planet Wise Wet Bags! The Planet Wise Mini Wet/Dry Bags can hold cut-up fresh veggies, make-up and mama cloth.
Use a Small Planet Wise Wet Bag in place of a disposable sandwich bag to carry your lunch, to carry your wet wipes, to transport a dirty bib and spoon home from eating dinner out, or to prevent your cold water bottle from getting condensation all over your clean clothes in your gym bag. Are you worried about your shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, etc. leaking all over your luggage but don't want to waste all those disposable plastic bags? Use a Small Planet Wise Wet Bag in your checked luggage to keep everything contained in case of accidental bottle explosions.
A Medium Planet Wise Wet Bag is the perfect size for dirty cloth diapers in your diaper bag. It will keep all odor contained in the wet bag so you won't get an embarrassing waft when you open up your diaper bag. They are also great to hold soiled clothing in your diaper bag. A Planet Wise Wet/Dry Bag is the same size as the Medium Planet Wise Wet Bag, but it has an extra pocket to hold dry, clean items. I love using my Planet Wise Wet/Dry bag in place of a diaper bag for quick trips out with my children. I put a couple clean diaper, my wipes pouch, my cell phone and wallet in the front dry pocket. Then after I change a dirty diaper, I simply put it in the wet pocket. The Wet/Dry bag has a loop handle that easily attaches to a stroller or shopping cart.
The Large Planet Wise Wet Bag is great to hold quite a few dirty cloth diapers on a day-trip. It also works wonderfully for wet towels. Nicki and her family used over a dozen Planet Wise Wet Bags to organize and pack their clothing and travel gear on their last family vacation! They are wonderful for bringing home your dirty clothes instead of using a disposable plastic laundry bag! The Planet Wise Hanging Wet/Dry Bag works as a great alternative to a diaper pail. I have one of these in my son's room hanging off the changing table and a second one hanging off our bathroom closet next to the diaper sprayer. They save on floor space and you can find a pattern to match the room it will be in. Planet Wise Hanging Wet/Dry bags are also large enough to hold a weekend's worth of dirty diapers so they work perfect for traveling on longer trips and are much easier to bring with than a diaper pail. Many people also like to use the Planet Wise Hanging Wet/Dry bag as their daycare cloth diaper bag. You can put all your child's clean cloth diapers in the front dry pocket and as the day care provider changes your child, they simply put the dirty diaper in the wet pocket. At the end of the day you only have one bag to bring home!
Line your cloth diaper pail with a Planet Wise Pail Liner (which also has the same seam sealed technology at the Planet Wise Wet Bags), to hold in all wetness and odor and keep your baby's room smelling fresh. They have no-pill elastic around the top so they easily fit most standard pails and trash cans. Planet Wise Pail Liners are available in a wide assortment of colors to be sure to match any taste. Planet Wise recently released a Wipes Pouch that is the perfect dimensions for your cloth wipes folded in half. They come with super-soft matching cloth wipes. Slip your pre-moistened wipes into the pouch and toss it into the front pocket of your Wet/Dry bag and you are ready for any diaper change on the go!
All Planet Wise Wet Bags and Pail Liners can be laundered right with your cloth diapers or regular clothing. To enter to win a Planet Wise Wet/Dry Bag in your choice of fabric, leave a comment on our blog with a link to each entry (examples: your blog post, your comment on our FB page, etc.). You may only do each entry option once per weekly giveaway. Winner will be posted 6/9. Winner must email annie@nickisdiapers.com within one week to claim your prize. 1. 16. currently i use walmart bags for dirty and do laundry everyday, I'd love to have a wet bag and sprayer to have in our downstairs bathroom since we use our living room as the changing station.

It all goes in the wash for a cold wash, then i add a tiny bit of my homemade detergent. (I don't have the specail soaps just yet but working on it) cloth diapering for 3 days woo-hoo!

  27. Our washing routine: Keep the diapers in a dry pail. Throw them in the (front loading, HE) washing machine and do a simple cold rinse. Do a hot water wash with a scoop of Charlie's Soap, a scoop of baby OxiClean and occasionally a bit of Borax, if I feel like it, double rinse. Dry on low or medium, depending on if I'm in a hurry or not!

  29. My washing routine: turn on water, add a little bit of ALL free & clear, throw all the diapers and covers in, use HOT wash and rinse water, and largest load size. I dry my prefolds on high heat in the dryer and line dry my covers.

    ReplyDelete
  30. My wash routine is kinda odd but it works for us!

I actually hand wash HOT first (yes hand wash) w/Tiny Bubbles detergent. Then I do a machine wash cold cycle w/detergent. Followed by 2 cycles of cold water rinse. Inserts and doublers get machine dried and diapers and covers get line dried. I am thankful to only have to do diaper laundry around every 3 days.

PS: I only have one (small size) wetbag so this would be perfect!

  104. I have 2 in diapers - so I seem to do some every other day at least. Each DD has a large pail liner in a 13GAL can. I do cold prewash, HOT wash (whites cycle), then extra rinse. I'm currently using PUREX F&C, sometimes TIDE, when I need to freshen them up. Everything but PUL goes in the dryer. PUL goes on the line. I'd like to line dry my prefolds during the summer - but I can't get over the crunch cotton problem.... I like my DDs' bottoms in SOFT & QUILTY stuff.

    Diaper routine:

I have a front-loading machine, so I first do a cold soak and rinse. Then I wash my dipes in Tide Free or Country Save on warm/cold and then I do another rinse. Sometimes I add some borax or oxyclean to the wash to help strip the diapers. I have all pocket diapers, so my pul outers sit on the counter while I throw my inserts and cloth wipes into the dryer. The PUL goes into the dryer for the last 5 minutes of drying. So far, this has worked great for us.

  122. My diaper wash routine: I have an almost-two-year-old son & we usually wash the diapers about every other day. I use Classic Rockin' Green which is wonderful with our hard water. I do a cold wash w/ no soap & double rinse, then a hot wash with soap & double rinse. Sometimes if they're extra stinky, I'll do one last hot wash (no soap), with a couple drops of Tea Tree oil & then line dry the covers & dry the liners & pre-folds in the dryer. I LOVE our PlanetWise diaper pail liner & would LOVE to have some more accessories! I have a friend expecting a little boy this month & she's decided to CD.. so if I win, I would actually gift my prize over to her :)

  125. My cloth diaper wash routine is: cold wash, no detergent, vinegar in softener slot, no spin. Next a hot wash, heavy cycle, with Hard Rockin'Green with an extra rinse.

My baby's not due until July, so I just ordered some diapers that will get in next wee. The reviews on Planet wise wet/dry bags sounds so great - definitely would love to have one!

From reading up on wash routines, I'm going to try:
cold wash w/ no detergent, then Hot wash w/ detergent & double rinse. Dry PF in dryer or line dry if weather permits. Line dry covers & wet bag.

  130. My CD washing routine is a cold pre-rinse/soak with no detergent, then a hot wash/cold rinse & extra rinse with home-made CD detergent. Dry diapers in dryer and lay covers out to dry on top of it.

  137. I do a simple warm wash with Rockin' Green and a cold rinse. Nothing special and they come out fine! I wash every three days.

  139. I turned my laundry room into a diaper changing room. It is right next to a bathroom as well, which makes dumping poo convenient. The top of the dryer is the perfect height for me to change my son's diaper - we simply attached a changing pad to the top. I keep all my diapers in cute bins and baskets on a shelf above. Right now I'm using a nylon bag in a trash can for my diaper pail, but it is not completely waterproof. I would love to have one of these wetbags! :) When it's time to wash I do a cold rinse, then a hot wash with Thirsties diaper wash, then an extra hot rinse, then I dry the prefolds in the dryer and hang up the covers to air dry.

  141. I put a small amount of Arm & Hammer free and clear for sensitive skin in with our diapers. Our washer has a "silvercare" feature that supposedly ionizes or something to help with cleaning.

we dry the covers on a drying rack and the inserts in our dryer.

Usually my wife does this, but sometimes I do it. :-)

  145. my cloth routine is put on baby and then take out insert if just wet and put in pail but I don't have a liner so this would be wonderul. Then if dirty I spray with the diaper sprayer and then wash with soap nutz and dry liners but not the shells

  149. I wash my diapers (wet bag and all!) every other day with the BumGenius detergent. Usually I throw all the inserts and maybe 2 diapers in the dryer and then hang the rest of my diapers to help them last longer.
